Our Story

May 2021

It all started with an App.... Emily's boldness lead to her sending the first message. Max replied with a witty and lengthy response which Emily loved.  We talked for hours that first night and continued the conversation for the next few weeks. We finally agreed to meet for a date. That first date was full of laughter and fun. Emily clicked with Max more than anyone else. From that point forward, we were attached at the hip. Max spent the next two weeks driving back and forth from Burlington to Wauwatosa to spend time with Emily.

It was Max's sense of humor that kept Emily coming back for more...

It was Emily's laughter that made Max want more...

Year 1: 2022

While traveling for work, Emily rented her house out and stayed with Max on the weekends when back in town. We learned early on that phone calls, texting, and living together made both of us happy. Emily low-key moved in and stole a key from Max for his apartment within a few short months. That year, we spent our first set of holidays together, decorating for Christmas, kissing on New Years, and loving each other on Valentines Day!  Through out all the time and adventures our love grew deeper and stronger. While on month two Emily knew this was her person forever, and yet it took Max a little longer to get the message.

December 2022

Max asked her father for her hand and for her Grandma Leisner's wedding ring. Her father agreed.  Max planned the proposal for the day before her 30th birthday underneath the stars at the Grand Geneva Trolley Tour of Lights. Unfortunately, a severe blizzard came through and canceled all outdoor plans. We made a fancy meal and took photos by the Christmas Tree. Max gave Emily her birthday presents, the last gift was a square box that had an ornament in it. The ornament read "Our Frist Christmas Engaged!" which blindsided Emily. Obviously, Emily started crying as Max was on one knee asking her to Marry Him!  She said yes, then asked, over 11 times, "are you sure?" while crying on his lap.

Year 2: 2023

Starting new careers, planning the wedding, building a business, finishing nursing school, buying property, designing and building a home... and many more futures and plans to come.
